I am pleased to offer a letter of reference for Mary Anderson because I can write it with enthusiasm and appreciation for both her professional and personal attributes.

For 20+ years, Mary has provided graphic design services both to my former employers and more recently to my consulting clients. Our collaborations have included hundreds of projects for the Downtown Detroit Partnership, the GM Renaissance Center, the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit, the New Center Council, the Clean Downtown program, the Renaissance Conference Center, the Comerica TasteFest, and others.

We’ve worked together on every type of project – including major marketing initiatives, graphic identity programs, logo and letterhead designs, annual reports, web sites, brochures, signage programs, invitations, e-communications, online/print newsletters, Power Point presentations, merchandise design, and more.

Therefore -- I feel qualified (and privileged) to say that Mary Anderson is a top-notch graphic designer who brings a seasoned perspective to every project. She masters the most current software applications and is always advancing her skills to meet the needs of today’s fast-paced marketplace.

In addition, she is a high-energy, team player who will go the distance to make sure that every project is completed on time, within budget and meeting customer expectations.

I’d be happy to provide additional information about Mary’s qualifications at any time.

Mary Anderson worked for me as the designer for Chrysler LLC’s corporate newspaper, Chrysler Times, for three years and until the company decided to cease its publication.

During that period, I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with.

Chrysler Times was a biweekly tabloid publication of either four or eight pages. I provided Mary with the text, headlines, photos and artwork as well as a rough layout of the publication every other week. Mary produced the final layout and design of the publication, and she posted the final digital files with the printer.

Notable here is that the Times was produced and published in a very short time frame—two days—and featured multiple edits and corrections, as well as last-minute stories and changes that involved late night production work.

Mary always produced good, clean layouts—often under demanding circumstances. On occasion, she would jump in and provide artwork to liven up an otherwise dull story or page. She had a keen eye for the effective use of color backgrounds and boxes.

Finally, Mary took direction well and executed the work in a timely manner. She often offered good, sound artistic advice and suggestions. Most importantly for me, after long days involving multiple changes in text, layouts, stories and artwork, Mary remained poised and professional, and never buckled or expressed frustration.

It is with great pleasure that I write to you in recommendation of Mary Anderson. She has done a great deal for our business and continues to do so. We, The Pond Guy, first became a client of Mary's back in 2005 and since then have worked together to revitalize our mail order catalog, develop product labels for our products as well as develop marketing materials for these products. If there were three words to describe Mary they would be Imaginative, Dedicated and Integrity.

  • Imaginative: Every time I have thrown a project at Mary, she has always been able to come up with fresh concepts that we could utilize.
  • Dedicated: I have never met anyone more dedicated to finishing a project on time than Mary. There were times when Mary would stay up in the late hours of the night to make sure our projects would get to the printer on time.
  • Integrity: On a professional and personal level, since the day we became clients, Mary has always maintained a high level of honesty, fairness and character.

I have no doubt that Mary will make an outstanding contribution to your organization. Please feel free to contact me with any questions in regards to Mary.
